SUPPLY CHAIN SPECIALIST

The Supply Chain Specialist will assist with coordinating, preparing, and analyzing key supply chain metrics and performing Supply Chain data analysis for use within various projects. This position will also include project work and will participate in cross-functional teams to improve metrics in such areas as inventory turns, working capital, lead time reductions, sole source elimination, supplier relationship management, and supply chain excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Performs continuous review and analysis of demand and supply.
  • Prepares and executes proprietary information agreements.
  • Supports sourcing strategies, negotiations and documenting of contracts and agreements.
  • Communicates performance expectations and metrics to evaluate and monitor supplier performance.
  • Provide an expert level of control and understanding of our Supply Chain systems and tools
  • Negotiate with suppliers to get the best rate and service.
  • Manage end-to-end development product life-cycle
  • Create, send out, and monitor supply scorecards
  • Initiate and participate in continuous improvement activities in the plant both related and unrelated to Supply Chain.
  • Contribute to key supply chain reports. These reports will be prepared monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Assist in the implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Compile, analyze, and validate plant information on topics such as raw material costs, project savings, inventory turns, and supplier spend.

Requirements

  • Must have an active SECRET (or higher) Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in math, economics, supply-chain and/or business-related concentration.
  • Experience in Supply Chain Management.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office Products such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience working with Federal and State Government, Defense or another industry.
  • APICS/ISM/Supply Chain certification or willingness to complete first module (Part 1) of APICS CPIM certification program (or equivalent) within two years of employment is preferred.
  • Experience in areas including Project Management, negotiation, general commodity market knowledge, or general Supply Chain knowledge.
  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement is preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, suppliers, and employees. Portrays a positive and professional image. Ability to establish relations with a wide range of personalities, cultural backgrounds and educational levels.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions to job-related situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions.
